Fortunately, Epic Games has several different refund systems in the game. The most popular system is using lifetime refund tickets. However, they are limited in quantity and take an entire year to refresh.
When lifetime refund tickets were first introduced, players could use them only once. Everyone got three tickets and there was no recharging period. However, Epic Games added a 365-day charging period in Chapter 2 – Season 8, and thanks to it, players will receive new refund tickets in just a few days.

New refund tickets are coming in a few days
With the release of the v18.20 Fortnite update, Epic Games allowed players to gain a new refund ticket every 365 days. While this seems very slow, it’s actually very useful and a lot of players will benefit from it.
The update was released on October 12, 2021, which means that the Fortnite developer will grant the first new tickets in just two days.
Fortnite players will receive new refund tickets on Wednesday, October 12. These tickets can be used to get a refund for almost any item purchased within the last 30 days.
However, it’s important to note that some items cannot be refunded. These items include starter packs, real-money purchases, Battle Pass, Battle Pass levels, level-up bundles, and similar.
How to refund Fortnite items
Refunding Fortnite items is extremely easy and can be done in less than a minute. We have prepared a simple guide that you can follow to refund your purchases.
To refund your Fortnite items, you will have to follow a few simple steps below:
- Launch Fortnite
- Open in-game settings
- Go to the Account And Privacy tab (last time)
- Find Recent Purchases and click on them
- Select the cosmetic item you want to return
- Click on the Use Return Ticket button
Once you do this, you will get one final confirmation for the refund. If you select yes, the cosmetic item you picked will be refunded and you will receive V-Bucks to your account.
NOTE: The refund ticket countdown starts when you use your refund ticket. This means that, if you had three tickets last year and you used one of them in December 2021, for example, you will get a new one in December 2022.
