Fortnite Chapter 4 is just around the corner! If everything goes according to plan, Epic Games will release the new chapter of the popular video game on Sunday, December 4.
The new chapter will bring a lot of new features and even a new map. It will be preceded by the “Fracture” live event, which will take place on Saturday. Considering that the event will last for 40 minutes, a lot of players can’t wait for it.
In the last few days, we’ve received some massive leaks regarding the live event and Chapter 4. In fact, the latest leak reveals a new gameplay feature that will be released to the video game. Here is everything we know about it.

New Fortnite Chapter 4 gameplay feature has been leaked
The latest Fortnite leak shows a development client Epic Games is apparently using for testing purposes. The leak revealed three different images, with two of them showing what will happen during the live event.
The third image, however, shows an upcoming gameplay feature. It appears that players will be able to play basketball during Chapter 4, which is exactly what Epic v. Apple court documents leaked last year.
The message at the top is in German and is a matchmaking counter. According to this interface element, up to four players will be able to face off on the court and play basketball against each other.
Additionally, it appears that the success rate of shots will be determined by a special timer that can be seen at the bottom of the screen. Furthermore, there are many different animations players can perform, including slam dunks.
Epic Games has been preparing this feature for years
During the Epic v. Apple trial, court documents leaked several new features that would be added to the game throughout the time. One feature was basketball and it was believed that Epic Games would release it as a limited-time game mode.
This happened in mid-2021, yet the new feature had been in development for at least a few months by then.
As you can see in the picture above, there are different game modes and animations players can perform in a basketball match in Fortnite. Besides regular jump shots, there will be dunking and players will also be able to steal the ball.
While the latest leak hasn’t been 100% confirmed, you may notice that there is a shot meter at the bottom of the screen in these images as well. Furthermore, there are multiple modes, from 1v1 to 4v4.
