The Fortnite v23.30 update has finally been released! This is the third major update of Chapter 4 – Season 1 and servers are currently down while Epic Games is getting everything ready for it.
The update will bring a lot of new content to the game, including new skins, free rewards, map changes, and more. Additionally, the game developer will release numerous bug fixes with it.
This article will explain everything you need to know about server downtime and when it could end. The downtime began around 3:30 AM Eastern Time and matchmaking has been disabled.
Fortnite downtime could last for a few hours
Fortnite players are already used to downtimes. Epic Games uses them to take servers down and get everything ready for a new update. Some updates have lasted more than 10 hours, such as the v22.10 update, which was released in September 2022.
However, most downtimes last for an hour or two. If everything goes well, Epic Games usually brings servers back around 6 AM Eastern Time and players regain access to the popular video game.

One of the biggest things in the new update is another Fortnite x Dragon Ball Collaboration. The collab has been confirmed and will bring at least two more anime characters to the popular video game.
Considering that the collaboration is coming out once again, there is a good chance that Epic Games will enable Mythic items such as Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud. Additionally, Epic may add a few more items, including the Firefly Launcher.

A lot of new Fortnite augments have also been leaked. Epic Games has prepared 11 new perks for players and some of them will be released with the January 31 update. The game developer has already revealed all the new augments that will come with the update.
- Harvester – Shield Mushrooms, Apples, and Grenades drop from Bushes
- Shadow Striker – Something to do with the Shadow Bomb effect
- Riftjector Seat – When your shield breaks, instantly rift
- Icy Slide – Get an icy feet effect when Sliding
Once the servers get back up, which shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours, we will get all the information regarding the new update.
It’s important to note that this update will not bring Creative 2.0. Instead, Epic Games has postponed it to March 2023. Due to this, it is very unlikely that the update will be released during Chapter 4 – Season 1.
