Fortnite Downtime (November 15): How Long Will Servers Be Down?

The Fortnite v22.40 update has finally been released! This is the fourth major update of Chapter 3 – Season 4 and servers are currently down while Epic Games is getting everything ready for it.

The update will bring a lot of new content to the game, including new skins, free rewards, map changes, and more. Additionally, another Rocket League collaboration is coming out with it.

This article will explain everything you need to know about server downtime and when it could end. The downtime began around 3:30 AM Eastern Time and matchmaking has been disabled.

Fortnite downtime could last for a few hours

Fortnite players are already used to downtimes. Epic Games uses them to take servers down and get everything ready for a new update. Some updates have lasted more than 10 hours, such as the v22.10 update, which was released in September.

However, most downtimes last for an hour or two. If everything goes well, Epic Games usually brings servers back around 6 AM Eastern Time and players regain access to the popular video game.

One of the biggest things in the new update could be the return of the 50v50 mode. This is the first-ever limited-time game mode released to Fortnite Battle Royale, which is why so many players are excited about it.

This time, however, Epic Games will release a 40v40 battle between two teams and it will be done in the Zero Build mode. Furthermore, there is a chance that the development team releases other leaked additions, including motorcycles and planes.

Considering that this is most likely the last major update of the season, we expect the development team to add a lot of live event files with it. The event will take place on Saturday, December 3, and will be called “Fracture.”

Not only is v22.40 the last major update of Chapter 3 – Season 4, but it’s also the last update of Chapter 4, which makes it very significant.

Once the servers get back up, which shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours, we will get all the information regarding the new update. In the meantime, Fortnite leakers have already begun revealing some of the most interesting additions.
