The Fortnite Halloween event starts on Tuesday, October 18. The popular event will be released with the v22.20 update, which will be the second major update in Chapter 3 – Season 4.
Epic Games hasn’t revealed a lot of information regarding the Fortnitemares 2022 event yet. However, Fortnite leakers have shared some interesting details regarding the event and some things that it will bring.

Fortnite Halloween event will bring many new skins
Epic Games released the first Fortnitemares 2022 teaser in August 2022. This took place during Chapter 3 – Season 3 as the game developer posted an interesting image on the official website of Fortnite Battle Royale.
The teaser image showed several characters from Fortnite, but also a new character that will most likely be released to the Item Shop during the Halloween event. The character looks amazing and definitely fits the Halloween theme!
Aside from this skin, the Fortnite development team will add many other cosmetic items to the video game. It is very likely that players will get exclusive challenges that will grant free cosmetic items as well.
There are several leaks that Epic Games could also add popular horror characters, such as Michael Myers, during the upcoming Fortnite Halloween event. Unfortunately, these leaks don’t come from reputable sources and may not be true.
However, reputable leakers have claimed that a Fortnite x Dead by Deadlight collaboration could happen at some point. According to the leakers, Behaviour Interactive and Epic Games have discussed this crossover, so it may come during the event.
Gameplay changes are coming with next Fortnite update
The next Fortnite Battle Royale update will bring a lot of new content, not just the Halloween event. The Grapple Glove will be vaulted when the update comes out, but it will most likely be replaced by the Witch Broom.
The Witch Broom is a Mythic item that perfectly fits the Halloween theme. It’s great for mobility and will serve as a suitable replacement for the Grapple Glove.
Besides the Witch Broom, Epic Games will most likely unvaulted the Pumpkin Launcher. This is an iconic Halloween-themed weapon that has been a big part of the Fortnitemares event, which is why we expect it to return with the v22.20 update on October 18.
The update will also bring a new boss. According to the leakers, the boss will drop a new Mythic weapon, rockets, ammo, and several other consumables. The boss will also spawn two animals, similar to the Herald.
Considering that the October 18 update will be a big one, there is a good chance that Epic will release big map changes. Aside from Halloween decorations, we could see another Chrome expansion over the island.
