Fortnite Players Once Again Furious With Epic Games & Winterfest Event

Fortnite players are once again furious with Epic Games. The video game developer has recently banned thousands of players due to exploiting and has also ended the Winterfest event.

The Winterfest 2022 event brought a lot of new free cosmetics to the popular video game, including two free skins. In total, players were able to obtain 17 new cosmetic items and a lot of XP.

Unfortunately, many players believe that Epic Games ended the event prematurely. This is why so many of them are upset, yet the truth is that the game developer announced the ending of the event a long time ago.

Fortnite players furious with Epic Games once again

On Tuesday, December 27, Epic Games removed Christmas decorations from the in-game island. Additionally, Holiday Presents and the Snowball Launcher were vaulted, as well as the Sgt. Winter.

Shortly after this happened, there was an outrage from players. They believed that Epic accidentally ended the event early, which is actually not the case.

As soon as Epic released the Winterfest update, the development team published a blog post that revealed everything about it. In the blog post, the Fortnite creator clearly stated that several things will be removed on December 27.

However, it’s important to note that the Cozy Lodge is still available in the game. This means that players can obtain free rewards by Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Additionally, the Guff Gringle skin is also still available.

Many seasonal events last for two weeks in Fortnite Battle Royale, and Winterfest 2022 was no exception. Despite the blog post by Epic Games, many players mistakenly believed that everything would be available by January 3, 2023, which is not the case.

Here is what Epic posted in the blog post:

There will be two sets of these weekly Quests: the first will run from 9 AM ET on December 13 to 9 AM ET on December 20, and the second will run from 9 AM ET on December 20 to 9 AM ET on December 27.

In addition to this, the Fortnite development team made it clear that all the free cosmetics would be available for another week, giving players more time to obtain them.

Unfortunately, it appears that a lot of Fortnite players missed the blog post. Even some big-name streamers and leakers claimed that Epic Games “canceled” the Winterfest 2022 event, which was most certainly not the case.
