In total, the servers were down for around 12 hours and it appears that Fortnite players will receive some free V-Bucks as compensation for this.
Fortnite leak reveals free V-Bucks that players will receive
Epic Games has added a lot of new content with the latest Fortnite Battle Royale update. However, a lot of new things have been added to the game data, yet they haven’t been released to live servers yet.
This data contains information regarding the future content of the game. According to the files discovered by data miners, Epic has added a new string that indicates that players will get free V-Bucks.

According to Camping Rusher, one of the most popular Fortnite YouTubers, Epic Games will most likely reward players with free V-Bucks in the future. This is the string that the YouTuber found in the game data:
Here are the V-Bucks you’ve recently purchased along with some complimentary V-Bucks as a thank you for your patience.

According to the string above, free V-Bucks will be given to players for their patience. This most likely refers to the extended server downtime as the string was recently found in the game data.

The Sweat-Free wrap has been given to every active player, and in order to get it, players simply need to log into the video game and press the claim button on the popup.

While having a free wrap is nice, there is no doubt that many Fortnite Battle Royale players would prefer to get free V-Bucks. However, we will have to wait and see when this happens.
The next Fortnite update is on Tuesday, October 18, and will bring a lot of new stuff to the game. The Fortnite Halloween event will start with this update and players will most likely get some more gameplay and map changes with it.
