Fortnite Players To Receive Free V-Bucks or Money, Here Is Why

Fortnite players will soon receive either free V-Bucks or money from Epic Games, which is great news for anyone who wants to obtain more cosmetic items in the future.

As many players are aware, the Fortnite creator was fined more than half a billion dollars by the Federal Trade Commission. As a part of the settlement, Epic will also have to refund players $245 million.

Fortnite players to receive compensation

Epic Games has granted a lot of V-Bucks to Fortnite Battle Royale players in the past few weeks. However, these V-Bucks mostly came from refunds due to the wrong pricing of cosmetic items in the Item Shop.

The next refund will be the biggest FTC refund in the video gaming industry. Epic will have to refund a total of $245 million to Fortnite players, which sounds incredible.

Here is everyone who is eligible for the refund:

• Parents whose children made an unauthorized credit card purchase in the Epic Games Store between January 2017 and November 2018
• Fortnite players who were charged in-game currency (V-Bucks) for unwanted in-game items (such as cosmetics, llamas, or battle passes) between January 2017 and September 2022
• Fortnite players whose accounts were locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after disputing unauthorized charges with their credit card companies.

According to the FTC, there is nothing Fortnite players should do at the moment. The organization is still in the process of providing a refund to players and will post updates regarding this settlement at ftc.gov/fortnite.

Additionally, players can visit this link to enter their email address and receive updates regarding the process. Considering that Epic will have to refund a large amount of money, the process may take a few months.

It’s important to note that no one knows exactly how much players will receive from the video game publisher. As of December 2022, Fortnite has more than 400 million players, making it one of the most popular games in video gaming history.
