Call of Duty: Warzone used to be one of the most popular games two years ago. The title was released in March 2020 and was a perfect game to play during the COVID-19 outbreak.
With Fortnite Battle Royale and Apex Legends already out, Activision tried to take over the battle royale market with its own free-to-play title. This turned out to be a great idea, but the many Call of Duty players believe that the video game is dying in late 2022.
This article will reveal the player count for Call of Duty: Warzone in November 2022. It will also compare the player count to its main competitors, Fortnite and Apex Legends. Let’s check it out!
Call of Duty: Warzone player count in late 2022
When Call of Duty: Warzone was just released, Fortnite Battle Royale and Apex Legends were very popular. With millions of daily active users, these games were far ahead of any other battle royale title.
However, Fortnite and Apex Legends did not have what Call of Duty: Warzone brought, which is realistic gameplay. The two games are amazing, but they do not cater to players who want a realistic simulation.

Warzone was the new kid on the block and it achieved rapid growth in the first few months. A lot of Fortnite and Apex Legends players stopped playing their games and switched to the new battle royale title.
In June 2022, Activision announced that the game has more than 125 million players in total. However, its concurrent player count is not very impressive, at least not when compared to its competitors.
According to PlayerCounter and ActivePlayer, the video game has around 300,000 concurrent players. It also has around 50 million active players on a monthly basis.

The player count has gone down since 2020. Back then, Call of Duty: Warzone was an exciting new title that everybody wanted to play. While the video game is still popular and has millions of active players, it’s nowhere as popular as its main competitors.
Fortnite and Apex Legends player count
Apex Legends is the second-biggest battle royale title at the moment. It has around a million concurrent players and approximately 110 million active players on a monthly basis.
Fortnite Battle Royale, on the other hand, is still the king of the battle royale genre. Despite being more than five years old, Epic Games’ title has around 2 million players online at any given moment, and this number goes to more than 10 million during live events.

When it comes to monthly active users, Fortnite is floating around the 250 million mark, which is way ahead of Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends.
While Warzone is not as popular as it used to be, it wouldn’t be accurate to say that it was dying. Many games don’t even have 100,000 concurrent players, so this mark is still relatively good.
With the release of Warzone 2, Activision could turn the tables and make its title very popular once again!
