Next Fortnite Downtime Will Bring a Game-Changing Feature

The next Fortnite downtime will take place on Saturday, December 3. The downtime will begin right after the “Fracture” event ends and will bring Chapter 4.

This time, however, Epic Games has prepared something special for Fortnite Battle Royale players. The game developer has hinted at adding a new playable mode during the downtime instead of a “To Be Continued” screen.

This confirms the previous leak that claimed there would be a new feature released with the downtime. This article will reveal everything you need to know about the upcoming Fortnite downtime and everything that it will bring.

Next Fortnite downtime will be unique and special

Shortly after the v22.40 Fortnite update was released, HYPEX, the most popular leaker, revealed something interesting. The leaker thought that Epic Games would release a special game mode during the Chapter 4 downtime.

Don’t take this as a confirmation but there seems to be a storyline-related mode that we’ll play from the lobby, possibly during Chapter 4’s downtime!

While the popular leaker wasn’t 100% sure about this, it turns out that he was right. Epic Games hinted at this unique game mode with the latest blog post.

The next Fortnite downtime will most likely bring a special game mode that reveals the storyline

In their latest blog post, Epic Games announced that Fortnite players will be able to earn the free cosmetic item from December 2, 9 AM Eastern Time, until December 4, 2:45 AM Eastern Time.

While this doesn’t sound like a big deal, one thing is very unusual. Epic clarified that the free cosmetic item will be obtainable until 2:45 AM on the day after the live event. More specifically, players will be able to get the free emote 11 hours after the start of the live event.

After the “Fracture” event concludes, we expect Epic Games to begin the Chapter 4 downtime. However, it appears that the development team has prepared something else and there is a chance that servers will stay functional.

Considering that Chapter 4 will bring a lot of fantastic things to the popular video game, this could also be a sign that Epic will begin releasing new updates without any downtime.
